Overview
Dexa Mp3 Music ("the app", "we", "us") is a music player, downloader and audio trimmer developed by Dexa FZE LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, the Android permissions it requests, and the choices you have.
The short version: Your music library, trimmed clips and downloads live on your device. We do not run accounts, we do not sell your data, and we never upload your personal audio files to our servers.
What the App Does
- Play — plays the audio files stored on your device with a full-featured background player, equalizer, playlists, favourites and a home-screen widget.
- Download — lets you download tracks from supported online sources and saves them to your device storage.
- Trim — cuts and edits audio files locally to create ringtones, clips and shortened tracks.
- Organise — manages local files, playlists, downloads and trimmed songs entirely on-device.
All of these features work on files that already exist on your phone or that you choose to download. Processing (playback, trimming, format handling) happens locally on your device.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number or contacts.
Permissions We Request & Why
Android requires apps to declare every permission they may use. Below is every permission in Dexa Mp3 Music, in plain language.
Read Audio / Media
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO · READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Lets the app find and list the music and audio files on your device so you can play, trim and organise them. Read-only access to audio.
Save Files (legacy)
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 & below)
On older Android versions, this lets the app save your downloads and trimmed clips to storage. On Android 13+ it is not used.
Internet Access
INTERNET · ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Needed to stream and download online tracks, load album art, check connectivity, and serve ads. No personal audio is uploaded.
Background Playback
FOREGROUND_SERVICE · FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK
Keeps your music playing and its controls in the notification while the app is in the background or the screen is off.
Background Downloads
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC
Allows downloads to continue reliably in the background and shows their progress in a notification.
Notifications
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Shows the player controls, download progress and important app messages. You can turn notifications off in system settings.
Set as Ringtone
WRITE_SETTINGS
Only used when you choose to set a trimmed clip or track as your ringtone, notification or alarm sound. Nothing is changed without your action.
Permissions are requested only when a feature needs them, and you can decline or revoke any of them at any time in your device settings — some features may then be limited.
Advertising & Third-Party Services
Dexa Mp3 Music may display ads through Google AdMob to keep the app free. Ad networks may use device and advertising identifiers to show relevant ads and measure performance, as described in Google's own policies.
Services we rely on

- Google Play Services — app distribution, crash reporting and diagnostics.
These third parties handle any data they collect under their own privacy policies. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
Downloads & Your Responsibility
The download and trim tools are provided so you can manage audio you have the right to use. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you download, trim or set as a ringtone complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms of the source you obtain it from.
Dexa Mp3 Music does not host, own or control third-party content and is not responsible for content available on external sources.
Data Security & Retention
Because your files, playlists and settings are stored on your own device, their security depends primarily on your device's protections. We recommend keeping your device locked and your software up to date.
Any local data the app stores is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. We do not retain personal audio on any server.
Children's Privacy
Dexa Mp3 Music is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will address it.
Your Rights & Choices
- Grant or revoke any permission from your device's Settings → Apps → Dexa Mp3 Music → Permissions.
- Turn off notifications or personalized ads through your device settings.
- Delete all local app data by clearing storage or uninstalling the app.
- Contact us with any privacy question or request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
